Hi Ian,
Thanks for your comment, it’s so refreshing to see someone involved in the system that actually agrees. Looking back at my school days I know I would have got so much more out of it and enjoyed it so much more if there had been the flexibility for me to focus on the things that I was good at such as music, rather than learning in minute detail about the Crimean War (of which I remember nothing). It really is time for a shake up!

Hi Cesca, I could not agree more.
I seem to one of the lucky ones. I am both a parent and a Governor of a school in rural Worcestershire, and sport plays a big part in the life of the school.
In fact my son will be out this afternoon, competing in National Athletic qualifiers at 800m.
I am also Chair of a local swimming club and see the tremendous value that sport plays in their development both psychically and emotionally.
I do agree that school can wait as long as they don’t lose their ability to learn, but that can be gained on the sports field or the pool too!
